RADIAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Radial Shockwave Therapy

Radial shockwave therapy is effective for injuries associated with inflammation, tendon issues, and a variety of other conditions, especially chronic conditions.

At Glenora Chiropractic Clinic, we use a state-of-the- art shockwave unit called Intelect® RPW Shockwave. Our doctors or therapists will first identify the areas where the shockwaves should be applied. Then a small machine is pressed directly onto the skin while shockwaves are administered. Some discomfort or pain is expected during the treatments but is often short-lived. Treatment often takes only a few minutes.

The common uses for radial shockwave therapy include:

  • Insertion tendinopathy/Tendon problems:
  • Tennis & Golfers Elbow
  • Rotator Cuff Injuires/Tears
  • Heel Spurs & Plantar Fasciitis
  • Patellar Tendonitis
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Glute/Hip Tendonitis
  • Trigger Finger
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Hypertonic muscle
  • Myofascial syndromes
  • Hematoma treatments

Treatments are often recommended once a week for approximately 3-6 visits. Normalization of tissue and full heal continues for a period of 4-6 weeks after the last treatment is administered.
